Western Iowa Tech believes that the opportunity for a college education should be within the reach of all interested individuals. Our financial aid program is designed to assist all students who qualify to complete a diploma or degree program. We make every attempt to make the financial aid process as smooth as possible.
- Fill ou tthe Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be submitted after January 1 for the school year beginning in the fall. You can complete your FAFSA online, simply follow the instructions on their Web site. You can do this from home, or come to the financial aid office on the Sioux City campus for assistance in filling out the form. WITCC's Federal School Code is 004590.
- Fill out the online Scholarship Application to be considered for a WITCC Scholarship Fund scholarship.
- Once your financial aid has been processed and approved, you may be eligible for our work study program. Work study jobs vary in duties and responsibilities, and work with your class schedule. Check with financial aid about availability and qualifying.
- The following requirements must apply to receive financial assistance:
- You must have graduated from high school, completed of the GED or successfully completed an Ability to Benefit test.
- You need to be admitted into an eligible program at WITCC leading to a degree or diploma.
- You must have legal US citizenship or be an eligible non-citizen.
- You must have a valid Social Security number.
- You must not be in default on any federal student loan or in repayment status on a federal grant.
- If you are required to be registered with the Selective Service, you must be registered.
- If you're a returning student at WITCC, you must be making satisfactory academic progress as defined by WITCC.
